The disruption of the ARD “Sommerinterview” featuring AfD party leader Alice Weidel has been declared a success by Philipp Ruch, of the “Center for Political Beauty.
Speaking to the news portal Watson, Ruch stated that the incident is “already the television interview of the year” commenting on the interaction between the interviewer and Weidel. He characterized the interview as reflecting “the state of our society” drawing comparisons to a “completely surreal Loriot interview”. Ruch suggested that both the journalist and the emerging political climate were being inadequately understood, while the interview continued.
The Center for Political Beauty indicated plans for further actions, with Ruch noting a “relatively long list” of potential resistance to the AfD. The organization’s aims and future activities remain under observation.
