According to the current ZDF Political Barometer, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) is positioned to widen its gap with the CDU and CSU. If a federal election were to take place next Sunday, the research group Wahlen estimates the AfD would reach 28%, marking a one-percentage-point gain. This growth comes as the CDU and CSU are projected to lose one point, settling at 24%.
Meanwhile, the SPD could increase its support by one point, rising to 13%. This puts the Social Democrats back in a position to surpass the Greens, who are predicted to lose two points and will stand at 12%.
The FDP showed a slight increase, while the Left Party held steady at 11%. The remaining parties collectively registered a stable 8% of the vote.
