According to the “Sonntagstrend,” a weekly poll conducted by the opinion research institute Insa for “Bild am Sonntag”, the AfD remains the strongest political force, despite a slight dip. The AfD registered 28 percent support in the latest survey, marking a one-percentage-point loss compared to the previous week.
In contrast, the Union increased its support by one point following the government’s reform decisions, reaching 22 percent. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) decreased by a point, falling to 12 percent, while the Greens also saw a one-point decline, settling at 12 percent as well. On the other hand, The Left Party improved by one percentage point to sit at 11 percent. The BSW and the FDP each held steady at 4 percent, indicating they would fall short of entering the Bundestag. The remaining parties accounted for 7 percent of the vote, which is one percentage point more than in the prior week.
Insa gathered data from 1,204 individuals between July 6 and July 10, 2026, asking the question: “If a federal election were held next Sunday, how would you vote?”
