AI Powerhouse Anthropic Eyes Mega IPO, Valued in Trillions Amid Tech Sector Race

The AI company Anthropic has filed the necessary documentation for an initial public offering (IPO) on Monday, an event that could turn into one of the largest in financial history. The firm, which developed the Claude chatbot, has neither disclosed the number of shares going up for sale nor the valuation price to the US regulatory body, the SEC. Reports suggest the company’s valuation could reach up to two trillion US dollars.

Anthropic’s IPO is viewed as a litmus test for Wall Street’s current interest in Artificial Intelligence, particularly as concerns about the technology’s risks are increasingly voiced among the public and industry specialists. While Anthropic’s revenue reached $16.3 billion during the first six months of this year, the company reported a net loss exceeding $80 billion due to the high operational costs of the necessary computing infrastructure.

Major technology corporations, including Meta, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic, are channeling massive investments into the competitive race to dominate the AI field. Anthropic has gained recognition among software developers due to its Claude code tool and plans to enter the competitive arena against Meta and OpenAI with its new Duet agent. Simultaneously, Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, has called for a slower, more deliberate pace across the industry to allow sufficient time for safety research and the establishment of proper regulation.
