Bangkok School Shootout Claims at Least Seven Lives in Tragic Incident

At least seven people were killed in a school shooting outside Bangkok on Friday. Authorities stated that the perpetrator, a student, ultimately took his own life after the incident.

The attack occurred that morning at the Debsirin-Nonthaburi School in the Nonthaburi province. The young man fired within the school building, killing a minimum of three teachers and three fellow students. Approximately 15 other individuals sustained injuries. Following the shooting, he turned the weapon on himself.

Though initially surviving the gunshot wounds, the student was given first aid by a local rescue team but died shortly thereafter. Investigators are currently trying to determine the motive. Police reports indicate that the attacker had shot his grandparents before entering the school.

The Debsirin-Nonthaburi School has around 3,000 students and is part of a group of eleven secondary schools linked to the well-known Debsirin boys’ school.
