Gunshots were heard on an open street in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin on Monday evening during Pentecost. According to witness accounts, firing from at least one weapon occurred shortly after 9 p.m., and it is suspected that the shots may have been returned by other participants. Prior to the shooting, there reportedly had been a brawl.
Police cordoned off the crime scene, and numerous rescue teams were dispatched, though it was initially unclear whether anyone had been injured.
This incident follows a similar event earlier this year. In March, two men shot a 23-year-old man in the same neighborhood while he was walking on the sidewalk of Graefestraße with an associate; the young man sustained severe injuries, and the perpetrators fled the scene.
