Body of 25-Year-Old Romanian Woman Recovered From Ruins of Apartment Building

Police announced that the body of a 25-year-old missing Romanian woman was recovered from the rubble following the collapse of an apartment building in Görlitz.

Search crews discovered the body late Wednesday evening, around 10:30 PM, after personnel search dogs were utilized. A paramedic was able to confirm the woman’s passing. Firefighters subsequently cleared the debris around the victim to facilitate recovery. Meanwhile, search efforts continued in other sections of the demolished house, and work in the area was eventually able to resume in full force. Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the collapse remains ongoing.

The building collapsed on Monday afternoon for reasons that are not yet known. Two other individuals remain listed as missing: a 26-year-old Romanian woman and a 48-year-old man of Bulgarian and German nationality.
