The number of reported injuries has continued to rise following the fatal drive at Berlin’s CSD. According to “Bild,” citing independent sources, at least 25 people are reportedly injured, and three remain in critical condition. One woman was killed in the attack.
The search is ongoing for the 21-year-old suspect, Abdul B. Reports from WDR, NDR, and “Süddeutsche Zeitung” indicate that he had been designated an Islamist “threat.” Security authorities had assessed him as radicalized and prepared for violence and had previously been held in pre-trial detention until May 2026 on suspicion of “preparing a terrorist offense.”
Abdul B. allegedly drove a small van through Berlin’s Tiergarten around 10 p.m. on Saturday, where CSD participants were celebrating. He crashed into a tree before fleeing the scene. It remains unclear whether he had an accomplice. Authorities now state that “one or more individuals” exited the vehicle. Furthermore, several people reportedly sustained injuries from stabbings.
