Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-1 victory over Sabah FK during the third matchday of the Champions League league phase. The Dortmund players came out with an offensive approach and successfully capitalized in the 10th minute. After Felix Nmecha’s shot missed the Sabah goalkeeper, Pokatilov, Serhou Guirassy converted the rebound to open the scoring. Although BVB continued to create opportunities afterward, they allowed Sabah to increasingly launch counterattacks. The game remained tied at 1-1 at halftime after Aden McCarthy converted the equalizer in the 39th minute following a free-kick from Tymoteusz Puchacz inside the penalty box. After the break, Dortmund assumed more control of the match. Joey Veerman’s cross reached Guirassy in the 53rd minute, who slotted the ball directly into the net with his left foot to secure the final score.
