According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), there are 104 religiously motivated threat actors residing in Germany who also hold another citizenship. This figure was revealed following an inquiry made by Sebastian Münzenmaier, the deputy of the AfD faction, to the Interior Ministry, and subsequently reported by the publication “Die Welt.”
The data further indicates the origins of these individuals, noting that 26 of the threat actors also hold Turkish nationality, 16 have Moroccan passports, and 11 have Lebanese passports. Münzenmaier told “Die Welt” that dual citizenship constitutes a serious security risk, adding that Islamists holding these characteristics have no place in Germany if they despise the state and its values.
The AfD politician called for a significant reform of the German nationality law, demanding that German citizenship be revoked from threat actors who possess multiple passports.
