On Wednesday, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) hosted Mongolian President Uchnaagiin Chürelsüch at the Chancellery. As the Federal Government had announced previously, the meeting focused on bilateral relations, economic policy issues, and international security matters. No press conference was scheduled to follow the meeting. The guest of state had actually been welcomed by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier the day before. That afternoon, both heads of state opened the exhibition “Genghis Khan and the World of the Mongols” at the James-Simon Gallery on Museum Island in Berlin.
