Government Postpones Follow-Up Talks After Constructive Social Partner Summit

Following the meeting between the coalition leaders and social partners at the Chancellery on Wednesday, no follow-up date has currently been set. According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Sebastian Hille, the government plans to continue the dialogue on specific topics discussed during the meeting and will provide information later regarding the format of these further discussions.

Hille also noted that “constant contacts” exist between the federal government and key social players, both from the employer and employee sides. The government had previously stated after the event that “further talks were agreed upon.”

Furthermore, Hille emphasized that the meeting itself was a success, describing it as “a constructive, focused exchange in a very good atmosphere.” He told the dts news agency that a primary goal for the appointment was simply to “talk to each other, because the tasks facing us are so great.” The participants also aimed to develop “a shared understanding of what lies ahead.”
