Felix Banaszak, the leader of the Greens, delivered a scathing assessment of the ruling coalition following their cabinet session in Neuhardenberg. Speaking to the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”, Banaszak said that while he was happy when Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his cabinet were in good spirits, he questioned the actual purpose of their gathering. He noted that the meeting failed to produce any concrete decisions regarding climate change and protection, nor did it introduce fresh ideas on how to stimulate the economy.
Banaszak conceded that Merz did endorse the pension package. However, he concluded that otherwise, Merz and Klingbeil failed to provide a discernible plan for Germany. He expressed disappointment, particularly after they had taken an extensive four-week vacation, stating that he expected Merz to be leading the country with new ideas this autumn. Banaszak labeled the government’s inaction a refusal to perform its duties.
