On Saturday, a diplomatic delegation representing France, Belgium, and Poland was reportedly targeted by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. According to consistent reports, the delegation had previously been involved in the olive harvest in the village of Taybeh, east of Ramallah. Masked Israeli settlers allegedly smashed the windows of a Belgian consulate vehicle and demanded identification papers.
Among those attacked was, according to his own statements, Bernard Baudoux, the mayor from the northern French town of Aulnoye-Aymeries. Video footage reportedly shows him lying on the ground following the attack. Speaking on Facebook, Baudoux stated that he had been beaten with iron bars and kicked. He noted that he managed to escape and that he is now doing well, maintaining his commitment to promoting peace.
