In the ninth match day of the 2. Bundesliga, 1. FC Nürnberg suffered a 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
The leading goal was scored by Erencan Yardimci in the 58th minute. The play began with a free kick from the left side, which was initially cleared by the Nürnberg players. However, Kaiserslautern midfielder Mario Sauer subsequently moved into the edge of the penalty box and powerfully crossed the ball toward the goal. Yardimci, who had been substituted onto the pitch shortly after the halftime break, rose highest and headed the ball into the upper left corner.
The win allows Kaiserslautern to climb up to the third position in the standings, while Nürnberg remains in second place.
