The German Football Association (DFB) has reached a fundamental agreement with Jürgen Klopp regarding a potential engagement as the national team coach. According to a release published on Saturday, DFB President Bernd Neuendorf and DFB Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke held an initial intensive discussion with Klopp in New York regarding the possible takeover of the national team manager position. During this constructive exchange, they reached an understanding concerning the essential cornerstones of a potential contract.
Both sides remain optimistic that negotiations could ultimately be concluded successfully, provided an agreement can be reached with Klopp’s current employer, Red Bull. These discussions are scheduled to continue next week. However, it was specified that any potential contract would need final approval in a combined meeting of the supervisory board and the shareholders’ assembly of DFB GmbH and Co. KG.
