Florian Kohfeldt has announced the extension of his contract as the head coach of SV Darmstadt 98.
The club communicated the news on Thursday. Kohfeldt assumed control of the team in September 2024 and has since led the side through 67 professional matches.
Sporting Director Paul Fernie praised the collaboration with Kohfeldt, highlighting that since his appointment, the coach has established a “clear playing concept” that has allowed many players to develop. Fernie expressed happiness about the extension, stating his conviction that the mutual process between the club and the coach is far from complete.
Kohfeldt himself reflected positively on his period with the club, emphasizing the progress the team has made. He stressed that the development of the squad is particularly important to him. He also acknowledged the strong cooperation with Fernie and the board, expressing optimism about his ability to continue contributing his strengths. While the club currently occupies the fifth spot in the table, they have recently conceded their place in the promotion race.
