Lagardère Travel Retail plans a massive expansion within Germany, focusing on food service and retail operations at airports and train stations. Jochen Halfmann, the head of the German division, informed “Handelsblatt” that the company aims to reach half a billion euros in revenue by 2030 through both organic growth and acquisitions. This projection would double the French company’s turnover compared to the previous fiscal year. Lagardère is currently planning for revenues of €280 million this year alone, having already opened 26 new restaurants and stores in the past four weeks. A key strategic move for Lagardère was the acquisition of the Marché restaurant chain in 2023, though the company has not ruled out further purchases. According to Halfmann, “We have ambitious growth goals here in Germany.”
