Mediator Pakistan Anticipates Imminent US-Iran Peace Deal

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif predicts that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran could be finalized within the next 24 hours. This prediction follows previous remarks by US President Donald Trump, who had stated for the 38th time that a peace accord was near.

On Saturday afternoon, Sharif posted on the social media platform X, stating, “We are closer to a peace agreement than ever.” He further noted that since the agreement is expected to conclude in the next day, Pakistan is preparing for the immediate electronic signing once it is reached. Technical-level discussions are scheduled to take place in the coming week. Sharif expressed confidence that this “historic peace agreement” will provide a strong foundation for permanent peace.

Pakistan is regarded as a central mediator in this conflict. Furthermore, Pakistani diplomacy played a key role in reaching the ceasefire established in early April. Sharif took the opportunity to thank both the US and Iran for their “continued commitment during the negotiations,” while also extending sincere gratitude to the “brothers in the region” for their support.
