Spain Overcomes Belgium 2-1 in World Cup Quarterfinals

Spain secured a 2-1 victory over Belgium in the quarterfinal of the World Cup. The match started with a dominant performance from the Spanish side, who took the lead in the 30th minute. Fabián Ruiz capitalized on a shot from Dani Olmo, as Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was unable to deflect the ball, allowing Ruiz to send it into the net. However, Belgium quickly responded, leveling the score in the 41st minute. Timothy Castagne delivered a cross from the right side, and Charles De Ketelaere headed the ball in the net.

During the second half, Spain intensified their pressure to take a second lead, while Belgium focused on counter-attacks. Despite the continued pressure from the Spanish team, it took until the 88th minute for the breakthrough to occur. Substituted player Mikel Merino capitalized after Pau Cubarsí saved a shot, scoring the winning goal and putting Spain ahead 2-1.

Following this result, Belgium will face France in the semi-final on Tuesday in Dallas.
