According to a survey conducted by the opinion research institute Insa, reported by “Bild am Sonntag,” more than one in five Germans stated that they would consider emigrating if the AfD were to come to power at the federal level. Specifically, 22 percent agreed with the statement, “If the AfD were to come to power at the federal level, I would leave Germany.” In contrast, 60 percent disagreed, while 18 percent remained undecided or made no comment.
Furthermore, 47 percent of respondents agreed that Germany would suffer under an AfD federal government, though 36 percent disagreed with this assessment, and 17 percent were unable to specify.
Focusing on the state election in Saxony-Anhalt on September 6th, Insa also probed potential political scenarios following the vote. Forty-three percent believe that a coalition made up of all other parties opposing the AfD would only serve to strengthen the party further, while 32 percent hold a different view, and 25 percent did not answer.
Regarding government formation in Saxony-Anhalt, 33 percent indicated a preference for replacing the AfD with a coalition of all other parties, but this view was rejected by 52 percent. The remaining 15 percent offered no answer.
The survey collected data from a total of 1,001 individuals on August 27th and 28th, commissioned by “Bild am Sonntag.”
