Suspected Passenger Arrested Following Berlin CSD Attack; Investigation Intensifies

Following a fatal crash at the Berlin CSD, a media report suggests that an arrest may have already taken place on Sunday night. According to information reported by RBB, the detainee is reportedly a man of Iranian nationality. Police apparently believe this individual was riding as a passenger in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the hunt for the 21-year-old suspect, Abdul B., continues intensely. He is reported to have sped through the Berlin Tiergarten on a small van around 10 p.m. on Saturday, while CSD participants were celebrating there. He eventually crashed into a tree and fled the scene. It remains unclear whether he had any accomplices; authorities are now stating that “one or more persons” reportedly left the vehicle. Furthermore, several people allegedly sustained injuries from “stabbing tools.”

Current information indicates that a total of 25 people were injured in the attack, and one woman was killed.
