Thorsteinsson Seals Hertha’s 2-1 Win Over Dynamo Dresden to Maintain League Lead

In Matchday 6 of the 2. Bundesliga, Hertha BSC secured a 2-1 victory away against Dynamo Dresden.

The opening goal came in the 10th minute, scored by Patrice Covic. Following a link-up play with teammate Vincent Vermeij, Covic drove from 15 meters into the right corner, with the ball catching a slight deflection from Hertha defender Linus Gechter.

Dynamo Dresden equalized in the 29th minute through Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson. The Dresden striker capitalized on space in front of the six-yard box, firing a lightly deflected shot from 20 meters into the lower left corner.

Thorsteinsson later completed his brace in the 80th minute, scoring the decisive goal that put Dresden up 2-1. Once again, Thorsteinsson found space outside the penalty area, hitting the lower right corner with a powerful distance shot from approximately 19 meters.

Despite the win, Hertha remains provisionally at the top of the table in the league, while Dresden currently holds 17th position.
