Hertha BSC secured a convincing 3-0 away victory against 1. FC Kaiserslautern during the 10th matchday of the 2. Bundesliga.
The Berlin side took the lead early, in the 17th minute, when Sebastian Grönning capitalized on a short cross from Thorsteinsson. Grönning extended the lead in the second half, scoring in the 52nd minute after receiving a sharp flat pass from Pedersen near the penalty box and curling it into the half-right corner. Just seven minutes later, Oluwaseun Adewumi decided the match, heading home a cross delivered by Pedersen.
The home team from Kaiserslautern had several high-quality chances in the opening phase but failed to convert them, with players like Haas and Tazemeta notably missing opportunities. Following Hertha’s opening goal, Kaiserslautern increasingly lost control of the match and struggled to seriously challenge the opponent’s compact defense.
The win solidifies Hertha’s position at the top of the table, while Kaiserslautern remains within the promotion spots despite the defeat.
In other fixtures, VfL Wolfsburg defeated VfL Osnabrück 2-0. Separately, SV Darmstadt 98 and 1. FC Magdeburg finished their match in a 1-1 draw.
