Following the arson attack on a Starlink terminal in Poland, police investigations are tracing a lead to the “Daltons,” a Turkish organized crime group that is also active in Germany. This information, reported by “Spiegel” based on multiple independent sources from several countries, suggests that the members of the gang may have carried out the targeted sabotage on behalf of Russian intelligence services.
While the Polish government classified the fire as deliberate sabotage and held Russia responsible, the investigation has led to arrests. Following a request for legal assistance from Poland, two Turkish citizens were detained in Nürtingen, Baden-Württemberg, on Monday. According to reports from various security agencies, these men may be members of the “Daltons” or could potentially have been instructed by followers of the gang.
The “Daltons” are recognized as one of Europe’s most potent organized crime groups. Its members have been active for years, operating not only in their home country but also in Germany and other European nations, engaging in activities such as protection rackets, arms trading, and contract killings.
The incident occurred on September 23rd at a satellite-based internet service station located in Central Poland. The Starlink service holds a critical role for Ukraine, as its army uses the service to coordinate its defense efforts during the Russian invasion.
