A little earlier, the broader S&P 500 was up 0.3 percent, reaching approximately 7,041 points, while the Nasdaq 100 technology index was calculated at around 26,330 points, up 0.5 percent.
Market participants appeared cautiously relieved over the ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump between Israel and Lebanon. Regarding Iran, Trump expressed optimism, stating that an extension of the truce with the cleric regime and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz were possibilities in discussions.
The European currency saw a slight dip on Thursday evening: one Euro cost $1.1782, meaning one dollar could be bought for 0.8488 Euros.
Gold prices rose slightly, reaching $4,794 per fine ounce by the end of the day (+0.1 percent), which equates to a price of 130.81 Euros per gram.
Oil prices rose significantly: a barrel of North Sea Brent crude cost $98.15 on Thursday evening (German time around 10 PM), representing a 3.4 percent increase compared to the close of the previous trading day.
