Russian attacks caused significant damage in several Ukrainian cities overnight into Sunday. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that repair work is underway in Odessa and its surrounding region to restore power after a severe attack on the energy sector. Additionally, residential buildings and the port were damaged, and eight people sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, Zelenskyy stated that a direct drone strike destroyed four floors of a residential building. Dozens of people were injured, and two individuals died. In Pavlohrad, an attack occurred near a shopping center and against energy infrastructure, resulting in nine injuries, including four children, according to Ukrainian sources. Attacks were also reported in the regions of Shytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk.
Zelenskyy explained that Russia continues to rely on “ballistic terror,” which is not limited to any single city or community. This week alone, 61 missiles of various types were used against Ukraine, including 56 that fell along a ballistic trajectory. Furthermore, over 1,560 attack drones and 1,540 aerial bombs were employed. Zelenskyy once again called for increased pressure and sanctions against Russia, along with an strengthened air defense system for Ukraine.
