VfB Stuttgart and SC Freiburg have learned their group stage opponents for the upcoming Europa League season following Friday’s draw in Monaco.
VfB Stuttgart will face a challenging set of fixtures, travelling to AS Roma in Italy, as well as trips to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce and to Switzerland to play FC Basel and the Netherlands to encounter Go Ahead Eagles Deventer. The German cup winners will host Feyenoord Rotterdam, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Young Boys Bern and Celta Vigo at their home stadium, the Neckarstadion.
Meanwhile, SC Freiburg will embark on away matches to Lille in France, Pilsen in the Czech Republic, Nice in France and Bologna in Italy. Their home ground will see visits from RB Salzburg, Maccabi Tel Aviv, FC Basel and FC Utrecht.
The group stage of the Europa League is scheduled to begin on September 24th; specific match times and dates will be announced shortly.
