TSG Hoffenheim secured a 3-0 victory over Olympique Lyon in the third matchday of the Europa League group stage. Hoffenheim started the game applying significant pressure, barely allowing Lyon to settle into the flow of the match. The French visitors struggled to find their rhythm and rarely managed to contain the Hoffenheim attacks. Kramaric finally put the home team ahead in the final moments of the first half with a header.
In the second half, Adam Daghim doubled the lead in the 49th minute, capitalizing on an unfortunate turnover by the Lyon defense. Adam Hlozek capped off the performance in the 83rd minute with a precise low shot into the top right corner.
This win marks Hoffenheim’s first three points in the competition. The German side next faces Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon. Their next Europa League fixture is scheduled for November 5th against Crystal Palace, played away from home.
