The German Foreign Office formally protested to the Iranian ambassador on Tuesday, demanding that the Iranian regime immediately halt its reckless attacks on neighboring countries. The ministry stated that it had “unambiguously urged the Iranian regime to cease its recklessly aggressive strikes on states in the region without delay”.
“We condemn the arbitrary and disproportionate rocket- and drone attacks carried out by the Iranian regime, including those against civilian targets” the statement read. “These attacks threaten our allies, our military personnel, and our citizens in the region”.
The backdrop to these demands is Iran’s rocket campaign, launched in response to large-scale attacks by the United States and Israel on several states in the Middle East. The spill‑over has left numerous German nationals stranded in the Gulf region.
