Iran’s Expert Council Secretly Names New Supreme Leader After Khamenei’s Sudden Death

Iran’s Supreme Leader council seems to have already chosen a successor for the (supposedly recently) killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, says the Iranian news agencies Mehr and Isna on Sunday.
According to their reports, the elections have already taken place and a final result has been determined.
All that remains is the head of the Experts Assembly’s Secretariat, Hosseini Bushehri, who is now tasked with publicly announcing the decision.

The 88‑member council’s role in Iran is to select and oversee the Supreme Leader. In the months before this, speculation circulated that Khamenei’s son, Modschtaba, might become the next Supreme Leader. Israel has already warned all potential successors that it intends to target them as well.
