During the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the conflict, the Iranian side sees progress, according to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Iranian Parliament Speaker. Speaking on Iranian state television, Ghalibaf noted that while advancements have been made in the talks, the involved parties are still far from reaching a complete agreement. Ghalibaf, who is also one of the negotiators for Iran, indicated that numerous gaps and fundamental issues remain unresolved. Currently, he is considered Iran’s de facto defense minister and a prominent political figure within the Iranian system. Meanwhile, reports from the United States suggested that the Trump administration might dispatch high-ranking representatives to Pakistan within a few days to conduct a second round of discussions. This follows a marathon session of direct talks led last weekend by Vice President JD Vance in Islamabad, which did not initially yield any results.
