Continental Seeks Major Board Expansion Under New Chairman to Boost Global Market Reach

Continental tire manufacturer is planning a significantly expanded executive board. According to “Manager Magazin”, the new supervisory board chair, Sabrina Soussan, is pushing for this restructuring.

Reporters at the magazine report that Soussan aims to expand the top management team, including adding three regional board members. These new positions would cover the USA, Asia-Pacific, and the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Discussions have also included the potential appointment of a production board member. This could potentially grow the current executive board to a total of seven members.

Currently, the executive board consists of CEO Christian Kötz, HR Director Ulrike Hintze, CFO Roland Welzbacher, and Conti-Tech Head Philip Nelles. However, the company expects to sell Conti-Tech in the coming months.

Soussan replaced Wolfgang Reitzle as the head of the supervisory board at the end of April. While the board restructuring has not been formally approved by the company, a spokesperson noted that the composition of the executive board is the responsibility of the supervisory board and is reviewed on a regular basis.
