The rapper and party singer Tream currently tops the official German album charts with his album “Stammtischparolen” according to data released by GfK on Friday.
In the album rankings, rapper Ssio holds the second spot with a vinyl reissue of his debut record, “BB.U.M.SS.N”. K-Pop group BTS improved their position, moving from fifth to third with their album “Arirang”. Four new albums also made it into the Top 10: the Hessian band OK Kid charting at five (“Komm, wir bleiben stehen”), Norwegian symphonic metal band Dimmu Borgir at six (“Grand Serpent Rising”), rock band Blumfeld at nine (“Für Immer (The Anthology Archives Vol. II)”), and singer-songwriter Maisie Peters at ten (“Florescence”).
Shifting focus to the single charts, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, Dara, lost the number one spot after a week to Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj with “Beauty And A Beat”. Dara’s song “Bangaranga” is now ranked sixth. Thanks to the biopic “Michael” Michael Jackson’s tracks “Billie Jean” (number four) and “Beat It” (number eight) have successfully re-entered the Top 10. Olivia Rodrigo is responsible for the highest new entry, charting at number eight with “The Cure”.
GfK Entertainment compiles the official German charts on behalf of the German Music Industry Association, covering 90 percent of all music sales.
