DAX Climbs Toward 25,000 Level as Infineon and Siemens Energy Face Pressure

30 PM-a gain of 0..2% from the previous day’s closing price.

Andreas Lipkow, Chief Market Analyst at CMC Markets, noted that the 25,000-point mark currently acts as a “magnet” for the index. He observed that investors remain composed, consistently positioning themselves in selected German shares. There is an ongoing effort among Frankfurt traders to channel tech sector euphoria into the DAX by targeting the few available companies within that industry. However, Infineon has yet to benefit from this trend, continuing to struggle due to the disappointing quarterly results of its U.S. competitor, Broadcom.

In contrast, Siemens Energy saw a decline, likely impacted by a proposed one-year construction halt for data centers in Washington state. Similar regulatory initiatives regarding various construction projects are also being initiated in Maine, Arkansas, and North Carolina.

Regarding currency and commodities, the Euro strengthened during Friday afternoon, trading at 1.1642 US dollars (or 0.8590 euros per dollar). Gold prices softened, falling 0.3% to $4,466 per troy ounce, which equates to roughly €123.33 per gram. Meanwhile, oil prices saw a marginal decrease; Brent crude was priced at $94.99 around noon German time.
