An outrage occurred during the Bundestag parliamentary simulation, “Youth and Parliament.” According to a Bundestag press spokesperson who spoke with the “Rheinische Post,” one participant in the simulation displayed the “White Power sign.” The young individual concerned was consequently excluded from the program on Tuesday morning.
The so-called White Power hand gesture is used within extremist right-wing circles to express the supposed superiority of white people; the specific finger position is understood to stand for W and P.
The simulation gathered more than 250 young adults from across Germany, who traveled to Berlin from June 6 to 9 to experience parliamentary decision-making processes firsthand in a realistic environment.
