According to reports from the US, Iran shot down an Apache helicopter belonging to the US military that was allegedly patrolling the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that a response to the downing was necessary. He further stated that both pilots involved in the incident were unharmed. Meanwhile, on the same Tuesday, the US President declared that a deal to end the conflict with Iran could be reached “in two or three days.” Trump said this agreement would prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon and would result in the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The President expressed optimism that there were no further obstacles and that all parties were “very close” to an agreement. However, the text notes that Trump has previously stated numerous times that the end of the Iranian conflict was imminent.
