Health Minister Urges Stronger Heat Protection to Combat Rising Health Risks

Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken (CDU) is calling for enhanced heat protection measures. Speaking to the “Rheinische Post” on the Heat Action Day this Wednesday, Warken stated that “heat protection is health protection and begins with simple measures that everyone should be paying greater attention to within themselves and in their environment.”

The minister further highlighted that heat periods are becoming more frequent, leading to an increased risk of health complications, which she warned should not be underestimated. Warken stressed that all actors within society are continually challenged to adapt better to heat and to protect particularly vulnerable groups even more effectively. She appealed both to citizens and to the federal government and the states to take heat protection seriously.
