Ukraine Strikes Two Russian Refineries in Deep Strikes to Weaken War Machine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine utilized drones to strike two Russian refineries on Sunday night. The targets included an oil refinery located in Slavyansk, in the Krasnodar region-approximately 300 kilometers from the frontline-and another refinery situated in the Yaroslavl region, about 700 kilometers from the border.

Zelenskyy affirmed that these operations are continuing with the goal of “weakening Russia’s capacity to conduct this war.” He stressed that every long-range strike reduces resources available to the Russian war machine, effectively taking “another step toward peace.”

Speaking on the attacks, the Ukrainian President maintained that his country would “continue to react to Russian terror.” The refinery in Yaroslavl is noted to have been the subject of multiple strikes by Ukraine in recent months. Details regarding the extent of the damages caused by this most recent attack remain unclear.
