AfD leader Alice Weidel stated that she remains reserved regarding the planned modifications to her party’s so-called incompatibility list, which she argues should have been revised long ago. Speaking on the sidelines of the AfD party conference in Erfurt, she told ARD Main Station studio that the newly elected federal board has committed to carrying out this overhaul. “And I believe: It is very important-without going into detail-to define clear, objective criteria,” she insisted. She added that the party’s lawyers would be responsible for defining these standards and thus reforming the incompatibility list accordingly.
Weidel then moved on to political commentary, stating, “This refers to the Greens, as well as the Left.” The AfD leader claimed that within those parties exists a “paramilitary wing of Antifa,” adding that these individuals-which she described as extremists, terrorists, and thugs-have no place in their party. When explicitly asked whether members of the Identitarian Movement could in the future join the AfD, Weidel merely referenced past exclusion decisions.
The conference itself had originally featured a debate on a motion to reform the incompatibility list. However, this discussion was shelved after the federal board promised to revise the list; the specifics regarding these changes remain undisclosed for now.
