The replacement of Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder (CDU) is reportedly still encountering difficulties regarding a successor. According to multiple media reports, CDU member of parliament Fritz Güntzler, who is the designated replacement, discussed the matter with Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) on Friday morning. Consequently, Merz was unable to officially announce this person in relation to the cabinet restructuring during his press conference. However, the Chancellor did signal that further changes would be made to his federal cabinet. “There will be further changes,” the Chancellor stated, though he did not elaborate on any specifics. Merz indicated that it will take several days, or potentially longer, before these changes can be finalized.
