On Thursday, two people were killed at a school in Gosen-Neu Zittau, Brandenburg. According to reports by the “Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung”, a 19-year-old German man allegedly killed an 18-year-old student from the secondary school, his former girlfriend. The second victim is reported to be a 30-year-old who reportedly attempted to intervene and prevent the incident.
The Brandenburg Police confirmed that a violent crime had occurred at the school. Using their X platform, the police stated that a male person had been preliminarily taken into custody and is currently believed to be connected to the crime. Authorities are currently securing the crime scene and continuing operations alongside emergency services.
