Bundestag Vice President Bodo Ramelow (Die Linke) warned on Tuesday to the news channel Welt that Russia is orchestrating a “societal disintegration” using US digital platforms, which he characterized as a daily form of “fear management.” Ramelow stated that while societal breakdown has been pursued by Russia for a long time, he added that US major corporations are also cultivating the environments where such “fear management” can be executed daily. He pointed out that there are multiple reasons to discuss both the “inner make-up of democracy” and the “internal condition of the populace.” Ramelow urged that destabilization resulting from internal and external attacks must not be tolerated. Furthermore, he asserted that if it can be proven that another state has attacked infrastructure in Germany using military means, a forceful response must be mounted.
