Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by phone on Wednesday. Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius announced that the Chancellor informed President Zelenskyy about the “attribution of the hybrid attack on Leipzig Airport” which occurred on Tuesday. Merz reiterated that Ukraine could rely on Germany’s “determined continuation of civil and military support.” According to Kornelius, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Chancellor for German support, including in the field of air defense.
