A Greek F-4 Phantom military jet crashed during an air show over Tanagra. Local media reported that the aircraft hit the ground on Saturday afternoon shortly before 3 p.m. under circumstances that are still unknown. Witnesses described an explosion immediately following the crash, while a reporter from the Greek network ERT stated that the aircraft suddenly lost altitude just before impact.
The incident occurred just minutes after the Greek Air Force demonstration began and was watched by thousands of visitors. Currently, no official information has been released regarding the condition of the two pilots, nor whether they used the aircraft’s ejection system. A firefighting helicopter was deployed to control the blaze that resulted from the crash.
