President Donald Trump deflected blame for the Republican Party’s mid-term election losses, posting on his platform, Truth Social, that he was not even on the ballot. He claimed that had he run, “we would have won by a landslide.”
Earlier, Trump had also criticized his own broadcast network, Fox News. He alleged that the network’s ratings had dropped nearly a third because it reported too much about the “disrupted Democrats,” contrasting this claim with his stated belief that his own numbers were “better than ever.”
According to consistent predictions from US media, Democrats have successfully regained the majority in the House of Representatives, and the Senate appears headed toward a blue-wing victory. Democrats captured seats from Republicans in several traditionally conservative strongholds, including North Carolina and South Carolina. Additionally, the governorship of Georgia, held by Republicans for decades, switched to a Democrat. In the traditional battleground state of Pennsylvania, Democrats also took multiple House seats from the Republicans, including in at least three heavily contested districts.
These 2026 mid-term elections are viewed as a crucial assessment of Donald Trump’s second presidency. Many US voters have recently expressed dissatisfaction, particularly concerning rising energy prices.
