Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes drove to victory in the Formula 1 race in Monaco, securing his fifth consecutive race win. Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) finished second on the street circuit, while Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) completed the podium positions.
The race started dramatically when Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was unable to get moving at the start and had to stop his car. Given that overtaking is nearly impossible on this track, as is typical in Monaco, there were few moments of excitement immediately afterward. A crash involving Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) on Lap 60 provided some much-needed tension, requiring the deployment of the Safety Car. However, Antonelli managed to maintain the lead during the restart on Lap 65.
The race was subsequently interrupted when Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) hit his car into the wall. Despite the change in leadership prompted by this incident, it did not alter the outcome; Antonelli survived the second restart, which was static, thus securing the win and becoming the youngest Monaco champion ever.
In terms of championship points, drivers finishing behind the podium included Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls), Pierre Gasly (Alpine), and Alex Albon (Williams). Esteban Ocon (Haas) gathered two World Championship points in ninth place, while Sergio Pérez (Cadillac) earned a point in tenth. The sole German driver, Nico Hülkenberg (Audi), only managed 14th place due to a penalty. The next race is scheduled for Barcelona in one week.
