CSD Attack Aftermath: Police Hunt Perpetrator in Tiergarten Following Deadly Berlin Incident

Following a fatal incident involving a vehicle at the Berlin Christopher Street Day (CSD), the police launched a search operation in the Tiergarten park in Berlin. Officers began the extensive search surrounding the scene of the crash around Sunday lunchtime, while a police cordon swept through the park area. Reports indicate that specialized police units also conducted searches at the Anhalter Bahnhof. Initial details concerning the incident remained unclear.

Authorities are continuing the high-pressure search for the 21-year-old suspect, Abdul B. He is suspected of speeding into the Berlin Tiergarten with a small commercial van on Saturday around 10:00 PM, while CSD participants were celebrating. During the incident, he crashed into a tree and then fled. It is currently unknown whether he had an accomplice. The authorities have since indicated that “one or several persons” may have exited the vehicle. Furthermore, several people reportedly sustained injuries from “stabbing tools.”

According to the latest information, one woman was killed and 25 others were injured during the Saturday evening attack.
