Green politician Konstantin von Notz is demanding decisive action from Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) and Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) in the wake of the Leipzig drone incident. Speaking to the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland, von Notz asserted that the federal government must cease being hesitant, timid, and discouraged, stating that the situation needs to be clearly defined and met with a firm reaction. He characterized the Leipzig event as a “military action.”
Von Notz put forward several concrete demands. He pressed Dobrindt for a weekly situation report detailing all incidents that can be traced back to Russian agents, arguing that the public must be fully informed about what is happening. Furthermore, he called for increased pressure on these agents, who he claims have been active across Germany spying and sabotaging without facing consequences.
Beyond domestic security, von Notz told RND that visa requirements for Russian citizens must be tightened, and the pressure applied to the so-called “shadow fleet” must be significantly ramped up.
