Katharina Dröge, the Green Party’s faction chair, has called on the federal government to close the Russian House in Berlin. She stated to RTL and ntv that while the facility is disguised as a cultural center, experts warn that espionage is being organized there. Dröge challenged the government, specifically asking why Alexander Dobrindt is not taking concrete steps to shut down the Russian House.
Dröge also demanded that authorities focus on the network of Russian disposable agents operating within Germany. Furthermore, she criticized Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU), accusing him of producing headlines without taking real action. She highlighted his lack of concrete involvement regarding the drone attack on Leipzig Airport, arguing that the federal government needs to clearly assume responsibility and oversight in the matter of drone defense. “We need coordination in anti-drone defense. He could make it clear that the Federation bears the responsibility here and takes over the competence, but he doesn’t,” Dröge said, adding that this inaction does not adequately safeguard Germany’s security.
Finally, the Green politician stressed the urgent need for a coordinated overview of Russian activities in Germany. “We have too much blind flying in Germany and are giving Russia too many opportunities to act against us,” Dröge contended.
